CNC Cutters bits & Nesting
If you are a woodworker, a furniture manufacturer or a super enthusiast of wood milling, you will certainly already know this process, but let me give a simple and clear definition for all other millers curious and eager to always learn new things.
The term Nesting refers to all those processes of cutting flat panels using a milling cutter, with the aim of obtaining the largest possible number of shapes from the panel (and thus minimize waste).
For example, from a wooden panel it is possible to obtain in a single pass of the cutter all the shapes that once assembled will make up a piece of furniture! Obviously, a numerically controlled pantograph with the necessary attributes is needed (in addition to the milling cutter, of course) to be able to perform this process, which is obviously essential for those who produce furniture and kitchens in series.
